PCOS affects approximately 1 in 10 women of childbearing age, and endometriosis also affects about 1 in 10 women. These are two of the most common hormonal/gynecological disorders, yet they are often diagnosed late (with an average of several years of medical wandering for endometriosis).
Perimenopause typically begins around 45-47 years old and can last for several years before menstruation permanently stops (menopause, which occurs around age 51 in France on average). Hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood swings, and irregular cycles are the most common signs of this transition.
