Le Rubis #5: First Date

How does the egg freezing procedure go from A to Z?

In this episode, no particular statistics except those that I cover from episodes 1 and 2 of Rubis. On the other hand First date is full of hope and that is what you are about to discover!

You will learn in detail how the oocyte freezing procedure is carried out in France and globally. I am talking to you about:

  • The full duration of the procedure as a whole;
  • The various appointments and exams to be done when starting an oocyte preservation procedure;
  • The risks of freezing your oocytes;
  • The number of oocytes that will be frozen;
  • The cost of the procedure.

I am completely available by PM directly on Insta if you have any questions

Le Rubis #4: The Fomovocytes

Ovarian reserve, the biological clock and gender differences

In FOMOvocytes, I am talking about the biological clock and more precisely about the fertile clock. I explain to you how the ovarian reserve works, how to take care of it yourself and what are the differences between men and women.

Within the framework of this clock and our differences, I am also talking about infertility, which is also one of the reasons why we freeze our oocytes. In about 75% of cases infertility is explained: about 1/3 come from a male cause, 1/3 from a female cause and 1/3 from a mixed cause. The remaining 25% of cases have no known causes of fertility. This is what INSERM recalls in its Fertility dossier.

I also mention the importance ofnutrition in the quality of its oocytes and the program Reflet sur l'improving fertility through food.

As always, if you have any questions, See you on Instagram !

Le Rubis #3: Over here

Where do you go to freeze your oocytes?

In”Over here“I explain to you how to find a center near you, whether public or private; I give you some advice on the state of mind to have when you start and I tell you in which case and how to approach structures in Spain.

Here are the episode's key resources:

Le Rubis #2: Deciding is moving forward

Is freezing these oocytes really for me?

We approach this question together from several angles:

  • Am I the right person to get started?
  • Is there a typical situation with oocyte freezing?
  • What are the psychological impacts of oocyte freezing?

Here are the links to the two studies on the emotional impact of egg freezing when decided for personal reasons, both conducted at the University of California:

Le Rubis #1: Save time

What is the best time to freeze my eggs?

In “Save Time”, I wanted to make you aware of the same thing as me: age has a real impact on fertility and freezing your oocytes could well help you become a mother the day you decide to do so.

In this episode:

  • I'm talking about the reasons that made me realize that age was a key factor in fertility ;
  • I explain quickly The concept of ovarian reserve ;
  • I am giving you the results of a European study and an American study on oocyte freezing;
  • I share my personal conclusions with you.

What these statistics say about oocyte preservation

For the American study:

Âge au moment de la congélation Avec 10 ovocytes Avec 20 ovocytes Avec ≥30 ovocytes
25 ans ~60 % ~80 % ~90 %
30 ans ~60 % ~80 % ~90 %
34 ans ~60 % ~80 % ~90 %
38 ans ~50 % ~70 % ~85 %
40 ans ~40 % ~60 % ~75 %
42 ans ~30 % ~50 % ~65 %

For the European study:
